Oechsle reaffirms its commitment to circularity with the opening of a PACTO Pop Up Store for remanufactured garments
December 05, 2024

On September 26, Oechsle marked an important milestone in its commitment to sustainability and the circularity of materials. Thanks to PACTO, its textile circularity program, the textile waste generated by Oechsle has been remanufactured in five penitentiary establishments in the country and is now returning to the Oechsle store in MegaPlaza as unique garments.
This achievement has been possible thanks to the joint effort of Oechsle, Inspira, Metamorfosis and the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), who have worked hand in hand to promote this circular economy model. Each of these actors has played a key role in the recovery and reuse of textiles, demonstrating that fashion can be a powerful tool for social inclusion and sustainable development.
Since 2023, Oechsle has worked in partnership with Metamorfosis, a sustainable fashion-focused enterprise, to recover the commercial value of its textile waste through repair, reuse and remanufacturing. This process has been carried out by women and men deprived of liberty, with the aim of contributing to their resocialization through dignified and paid work.
As a result, more than 300 remanufactured garments are now available at the Oechsle store in MegaPlaza, displayed in the Pacto x Metamorfosis PopUp Store. The inauguration of this space, held on September 26, was attended by authorities from Oechsle, Inspira, Metamorfosis, MegaPlaza and INPE. This project is just the beginning of the potential of fashion to generate peace, inclusion and sustainable development, as part of Oechsle's sustainability strategy.
Initiatives like this one are in line with our commitment to managing waste, promoting recycling and generating development in the communities where we operate, as part of Intercorp's sustainability pillars. With each achievement, we reduce our impact on the environment, positively impact different communities and get closer to our goal of making Peru the best place to raise a family.
